"I am not originally from Fort Scott, and I had never lived in a small community prior to moving here. I was impressed with the level of services provided by Mercy. In addition, I have come to feel that Mercy is pretty much the lifeblood of the community – without a health care facility here, I think it would be very difficult for Fort Scott to sustain itself or to grow. I enjoy being a part of the Foundation and supporting Mercy’s continued existence in Fort Scott."

Mary is a certified public accountant in private practice. She has been involved in public and private accounting for more than 25 years. She previously served 10 years as the treasurer of Mercy Hospital Foundation of Fort Scott, Inc. and has also served on the board of the Ft. Scott Recreation Commission and treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church. She has a son, Nick, serving in the Navy in Agana, Guam, and a daughter, Erin, who is a junior at Fort Scott High School. Mary enjoys spending time with her daughter and son, when he is home, walking her dogs, and swimming when the weather permits.
